Members are invited to a meeting on Monday 28 January at 6.00pm at St Paul’s Centre (ground floor meeting room).

Main agenda items to include:

Presentation by: ROB SAINSBURY, Group Managing Director Hospital and Community Services and JOHN HOWARD, Interim Head of Health Modernisation
Subject: “A New Model of Healthcare for Jersey”

The State’s Health and Community Services Department announced early in December 2018 proposals for a new model of health care for Jersey, which is led by clinical professionals, and is intended to be supported by a modern, effective, efficient and restructured Department. This proposal is currently out to consultation with the Departmental staff and to a degree with external stakeholders. This is an opportunity for “members” of the Partnership to hear first-hand about these proposals and to contribute to the dialogue, particularly as it relates to relationships with partners from the Voluntary and Community Sector, especially Charities.

Presentation by: Sean McGonigle, Director of Local Services
Subject: “Building a better foundation for the relationship between the States of Jersey and the Voluntary and Community Sector”

Sean has recently been confirmed as the permanent Director of Local Services with a major part of his brief being to build a new relationship between the totality of the States and the VCS. This is an opportunity to hear about his initial thoughts on how this might be progressed and to hear how the Disability Partnership might play a part in supporting the intended change in direction in terms of these relationships.

Other items will be covered at the meeting and a full agenda will be issued a few days before the meeting.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR ABOUT AND HAVE INPUT INTO THESE TWO CRUCIAL NEW INITIATIVES ON THE PART OF GOVERNMENT AND ATTENDANCE FROM INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS IS ADVISABLE.

We look forward to seeing you there.
